Pat Mulkey: There are just too many Good time’s over the years with Ed , But The day I will remember for the rest of my life and the only reason I can Laugh a little this morning, I was the GM of a Concert Venue here is SC and we had a Sold Out Skynyrd show and Ed and I had been talking alot as he was Production Mgr for the Tour, Charlie Brusco was the Tour Mgr at the time and it was his Birthday! He was suppose to drive up from Atl to the show for Settlement and of Course the Best BBQ backstage that we were famous for! I had arranged for a surprise for Charlie a Birthday cake to be delivered by 5 from our local Strip Club to the Production Office, I had the Girl’s and the Cake Ready! went and knocked on the door to tell Ed! He informed me Charlie had decided not to come and be with his family instead! in Atl , I said WTF! cause I had talked with Charlie that morning! and he was coming, I the told Ed of what I had done! There we were with the Girl’s and  Cake! But no C Brusco! With out any hesitation he Opened the door wide and Said to the Girl’s Hi Im Charlie Brusco with a very big Smile on his face! When Ed finally came out 30 Min’s later covered in Birthday Cake! and a Big Smile! and half of his crew watching and laughing! He yelled if anyone tell’s Charlie about this! Your Fired! and we had the best show EVER! Rest in Peace my friend and the rest of your and mine shenanigan’s will remain our secret forever!·

Gary McDaniel: met Ed on Skynyrd in 92 I was TM for the support he was PM for the Skynyrd guys.. Ed helped me day in and day out on that tour. also worked with ED at Tabernacle in Atlanta. And on shows all over. a solid and steady a guy as there could be found

Gary McDaniel: Ed was one of the “good guys” in the biz.. not afraid to show an up and coming engineer a trick or two on a console.. or help a visting Production Manager with issues on his tour while visiting Ed’s building..9 hours ago · LikeUnlike.Gary McDaniel just sent Ed an Email telling him how much he meant to all of us.. I am sure he can get online in heaven :)

You have forever left an endearing image with everyone who came in contact with you. I was fortunate enough to know you for over 35 years. Never a dull moment. We’ll all see you again one day, and that will be a hell of a show. R.I.P.

For those of you who don’t know, there will be a tribute concert in Ed’s honor on Sept 28th at Center Stage in Atlanta. Lots of performers are going to show their respect for Ed.
