I knew Davie for most of my life, from way way back in Scotland. A genuinely nice guy and a talented sound engineer. Can’t believe he has passed away,…..I only just heard…………..very very sad.

May he rest in peace at that great crew hotel in the sky…….. God bless him.

I’m a neighbor of Davie’s and am deeply saddened and shocked by his loss. He was a great man and everyone in our neighborhood will miss his wit, humor and down to earth nature that he had in spades. I also play music and record and would always be keen to hear about Davie’s latest tour and travels. His stories were always great and he was a true lover of music above all.

He was also always supportive of my efforts with music. I was always encouraging him to have his own site to share all of the history he has seen. We had planned to have him come over to my studio to have him help me with mixing and work in Logic. That never happened and I can only hope that he continues to keep me inspired. I remember him telling me to “keep playing music” and that meant a lot to me.

I will miss not sharing a pint with you, my friend, and pray that you are free from suffering and in a peaceful place. You left us too soon, too soon, and we will all feel your loss. May you continue rocking.

    I just came

So sad to hear about Davie’s passing..I got to tour Japan with him and the Hall and Oates gang this past spring, just before the earthquake, and it was a pleasure to get to know him. I’ll never say the word “hir-rrrrraj-a-koo” the same way again!! I saw him in August when he was mixing Cinderella in NJ, and let me say, he wasn’t afraid to turn it up to “LOUD”!! The H&O crew had fun reminiscing about him the other day, and he will be remembered and missed by all of us. Rest in peace, Davie, I hope your bunk is a condo!!

I have know Davie for many, many years. Having met him in the early 80′s with Air Supply. He will remain in my heart as the wonderful human being that he was. I will never forget his laugh and smiling face. you will be missed my friend! Cheers!

I have been a friend of Davie since 84. That year Davie passed thru Hawaii an I got to see him with Stevie Wonder, The Police, Air Supply. This was after his years of tours and gigs with AC/DC, Deep Purple, Metallica, etc. Following years with Oingo Boingo, Flock of Segulls, Prince,Yngwie, Michael Schenker, Warrant, Dio, American Idol, Joss Stone, Rihanna, and recently Hall and Oates on Oahu and Kauai. I am so grateful to have spent time with him which would be the last time I would get to spend with him.
I feel blessed to have been his friend and look as his part in my life as an angel to all that had the pleasure of knowing Davie. He will be missed by us all but never ever be forgotten. A day will not pass without something reminding me of Davie Kirkwood.

    RIP my friend Davie Kirkwood

Ps Davie’s present tour will be front of the house sound for Jimi, Stevie
Ray, Janis, Roy, Richie, John Lennon, John Entwhistle, Zappa, Otis, and company.
